I'm Beth - a sinner saved by grace, wife to Shelby and mom to 2 darling girls and 1 sweet and rambunctious fur baby. A bargain loving, craft making, seamstress wanna be, too much TV watching, not enough book reading, Jesus loving mama trying to live life in a world where I am out of place.
When we were in Port Aransas, Tx in June 2009, Shelby was reading a book about cycling with this title. The author said that he heard many Belgians use this term and took it to mean that you see a dog in a hat when "the normal situation changes, when something looks out of place". And thus here we are - our lives, turned upside down and thrown out of place by the death of our sweet baby girl, Poppy Elizabeth, when I was 20 weeks pregnant. But then I thought - our lives here on earth ARE out of place, purposely, and shouldn't we desire to be that way if we are serving Jesus? He guarantees us that we will have troubles, and then gives us the ultimate hope for redemtption with his promise in John 16:33, "But take heart! I have overcome the world." So we are praying that as we walk this unfamiliar road, we would appear as a dog in a hat, bringing God's Kingdom glory as we walk.
